Situated on 180 acres of rolling farmland at Ruffy, an easy 2 hour drive north of Melbourne, the White House at Parrindi farm is ideal for couples wishing to enjoy the tranquility of the Strathbogie Ranges. The cottage is ideal for a complete break in a stress free environment.
Garden lovers can relax in the spacious garden which contains many exotic and native plants, with colour all year round... Be amazed by the variety of native birds - some even eat out of your hand! Say 'hi' to the friendly Angus cattle or enjoy learning about and meeting the farm's 80 or so alpacas (usually including some new babies) and the two llama mums, Lassie and Minky and their five offspring.
For the more adventurous, there are the many local wineries to explore, as well as numerous bushwalks amongst the spectacular granite boulders of the area - ideal for the photographer or artist - or just spot one of the many local koalas or kangaroos along the track.
Experience the luxury of sleeping under an alpaca quilt with an electric blanket too, in the fully self-contained cottage, which offers television, CD/cassette player, books and magazines. Rate is $110 pn including country style breakfast basket. Picnic hampers, BBQ provisions and evening meals are also available by arrangement.
Other Meal Options
- The famous Ruffy Produce Store provides breakfast and light meals. Open weekends and public holidays 8am until around 6pm and Fridays for lunch. New 'take-away' catering also available - Ring Helen on (03) 5790 4387.
- Bring something with you and cook your own, using the kitchenette facilities (electric frypan and microwave) or BBQ facilities available.
- Bring a 'Take Away' with you, either from home, or by making use of Take Away food venues in the towns of Euroa or Alexandra, either are within 20 - 25 minutes.
- Visit either the Yarck or Longwood pubs (both serve great meals) - approx. 20 ks away.
